Campus

The Academy is presently functioning in its New Building at CDA-1,Cuttack ,inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr Justice P. Sathasivam,Chief Justice of India ,on 10.08.2013. Its Campus at present comprises of Administrative Building, Residential Block , Conference Halls , Library, Auditorium ,Reading rooms ,Recreation Rooms, Gymnasium ,Amphitheater etc with all modern amenities, necessary for imparting training to Judicial Officers ,Public Prosecutors, Ministerial Staff of the courts and other stake holders,. The Academy is under the administrative control of the Hon'ble Orissa High Court. Its activities are formulated and monitored by the Judicial Academy and Training Committee, consisting of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court as its Patron-in Chief and four Hon'ble High Court Judges as its members. The senior amongst them is designated as the Chairperson of the Committee. At the instruction of the Committee the day to day affairs of the Academy is carried out by the Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director, who are Judicial Officers on Deputation.

The Academy is previously functioning in the Old Board of Revenue Building in the vicinity to the High Court of Orissa,Cuttack . Its Campus at present comprises of two Conference Halls , Library, Reading room ,Recreation Room,Offices of Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director. For the purpose of construction of full-fledged Academy, piece of land measuring acres 2-41 decimile has already been requisitioned for the Academy in CDA, Cuttack. On the said plot construction work of the Academy has already been started with proposal of all modern facilities and techniques, necessary for imparting training to Judicial Officers and Ministerial Staff, attached to the Court and others.

GROUND FLOOR CONFERENCE HALL. The Conference Hall is having capacity of Photograph of 25 persons and is also provided with below amenities.

1ST FLOOR CONFERENCE HALL. This CONFERENCE HALL is having sitting capacity of 50 trainee officers and is provided with modern amenities such Public Address System, Multimedia Projector with screen etc. etc.

COMPUTER ROOM. In the present era, the use of computer technology Photograph of Computer Room. in discharge of judicial functions cannot be ruled out. It is need of time that judicial officers must be trained in computers. The Academy is having its own independent computer room in the 1st floor with 45 computers. The Academy has already imparted computer training to the newly recruited officers of Orissa Judicial Service, in service judicial officers along with officers of Orissa Superior Judicial Service.

LIBRARY The Orissa Judicial Academy is having its own Photo Independent library. At present there are about 15000 books in the library. Recruitment for a qualified Asst. librarian along with necessary staffs are under process for managing the library. In the library, there is sitting capacity of about 40 persons. The automation of library has already been completed. The Academy recently has acquired latest edition of Text Books on different subjects like Criminal Law, Civil Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Information Technology, Environmental Law etc. The Academy besides other Journals like AIR, SCC, SCALE etc. also subscribes to All England Law Reports, US Supreme Court Reports and Halsbury’s Laws of India.

OTHER FACILITIES. Recreation Room Photograph of Recreation Room. There is one recreation room, used by the trainee officers for lunch, tea etc.The premises available at present with Academy are neither sufficient nor suitable for running a full-fledged Academy.
